First Day

Today I experienced my first day working at Nordstrom. Oh my gosh, I literally am already obsessed after the first day! (Hope it stays this way). Everyone is so nice and friendly! What more could you ask for? My shift today was probably the longest shift I have ever worked in my life, but hey, that's alright! It was worth my time, and well worth making $. I'm so glad that this position worked out for me! I'm looking forward to what Nordsteom has in store for me! Who knows, maybe this is where I was supposed to end up all along! For those of you who know which store I'm located at, feel free to stop in and let me help you out!

SG Give Away

Recently, Julia (Society Grl) posted on Instagram that she will be doing a give away. So, I thought, what the heck let's try. It was one of those give aways where you have to #repost and #SGgiveaway kind of things. The Give Away included: A "What Would SocietyGrl Do?" tank, two Society Ties (similar to Emi Jay hair ties), and a "studded" Rebecca Minkoff light pink phone case. I HAD to have this!
 So the day went by and the deadline passed and I was a little bummed, but also not surprised. Simply because she has 13K followers on Instagram, so why would I be the one to be picked. 8pm rolls around and I go into my room to check my phone and I had an Instagram notification.  I had won the SG Give Away!! I honestly ran into the living room screaming that I had won. Obviously no one knew what I was talking about, but just the fact that I won was such a cool feeling! I contacted Julia to give her my address, and a few days later I received my "prize".
Along with the package, Julia had written me a note that I fan girled over.. (haha).
It said:
" Dear Taylor,
Hope you love your SG pieces:)
Thank you for being a fab follower, you totally deserve this!
xo, Julia"

I can't wait to style this cute tank! I have been following Julia ever since she was an anon, and have loved every single post she has had. You definitely want to check her out! Thanks again, Julia!

Day-After Hair Guide

I am always busy and sometimes don't have them time to catch a shower in the mornings. Most of y'all have heard of "dry shampoo", but for those who haven't, it's probably one of the most amazing thing ever to have been created. Dry shampoos come in either a spray or a powder form, and when sprayed on your hair, will eliminate the oils from it immediately. It's kind of like taking a shower with out even touching water. I love dry shampoo, because it's easy to toss in your purse and effortless to make your hair back to looking good.  Below is a few recommended dry shampoos that I have personally tried that you should check out. (Most of the dry shampoos can be found at your local drug store, or super mart)
{I tried this one when I was in middle school, and still love it to this day! It comes in 9 different scents so you can give them all a try. The one shown here is cherry}
{This is will will always be my all time favorite. I bought it as a "what the heck" one day, and am slightly obsessed with it. I tend to see these more at Urban Outfitters than anywhere else.}

{This is the one that I am currently using. I like it a lot, but would personally recommend the two above before this one.}
{Now, I haven't tried this one but I have read GREAT reviews on it. This is most likely the next shampoo that I am going to try}

The way that I use my dry shampoo, is:
1. Spray dry shampoo at the roots where needed
2. Let it sit for a couple of seconds
3. Optional + if time allows blow dry on a medium setting
4. Massage in the dry shampoo where you sprayed
5. Scrunch your roots with your finger tips to give volume
6. You're done + looking great

Hope this has helped {requested post},

Most Wearable 2014 Spring Fashion Trends

{shown from T to B: Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung}
This Spring you can expect to see several pastel colors to be in stores. Pastels are always a favorite and can be almost promised to be seen during the Spring season. The best part of the pastel trend is that it will never go out of style. So find some great pieces that you can both dress up and dress down and keep them around for years to come.
{shown: Rebecca Minkoff}
The boxy cropped jacket will be a wardrobe must have this season. This silhouette comes in hundreds of different prints from floral to stripped, or even the print shown above. With all these prints you are guaranteed to be able to mix and match with other prints as well.
{shown from L to R: Alexander Wang, Costello Tagliapietra, Altuzarra}
I'm so excited that these are in. Every girl loves their boyfriend's button down, but does their shirt have a contrasting color and/or a textured collar and cuff? Didn't think so. Make sure you have this style in your closet this Spring. I know I will!
{shown: Trina Turk}
Believe it or not, but look what is back in for this season. That's right, the wide-leg. It's such an easy, ultra chic look that's easy to dress up or down. For those girls that don't reach six foot tall, try to find a pair of high waisted wide-leg pant so that it will elongate your frame. (you're welcome).
{shown from L to R: Christian Siriano, Alice + Olivia, Proenza}
I love this tea length skirt. It's perfect for the spring and the pastel colors are a beautiful touch to these delicate pieces. You could pair a crop top with this piece to show a little skin or keep it modern and sexy by showing a little arm or even some shoulder.
{shown from L to R: J. Crew, Costello Tagliapietra, BLK DNM}
Personally, I'm a little surprised that these are just now considered "in", when I just saw them last year in a clothing store. Anyways, I am a big fan on the contrasting stripe down the pant line. It gives the edge that it's been missing. I'm hoping to see more of these this Spring season because they are easy to wear and are fun to dress.
{shown: Clover Canyon}
 The shift blouse is easy and much more sophisticated than your regular t-shirt. It's elbow length and boxy. I have seen several celebrities wearing this look already and it's adorable. I don't have one in my closet yet, but you bet that I will pretty soon.
{shown from L to R: J.Crew, Rachel Zoe, Clover Canyon}
YAY! I have a few of these in my wardrobe already. I love the collarless coat. You still get the preppy look but just minus the collar. Most of my coats are black so the next in my closet will be some sort of print.

Hope this has given you a few fashion previews of what you could be expecting in the Spring season. I'm already saving up money so that I can go and snatch these pieces before anyone else does! Even though these were just a few of the Spring look, make sure to check out the video below to see more that will be in this years 2014 Spring collection.

What's In My Makup Bag

 My day to day look would be considered natural with a hint of bronzer. As you can tell I'm a little obsessed with Bobbi Brown. For years I struggled with finding the perfect makeup. Certain kinds would cause me to break out, or my skin to get too oily. Bobbi Brown has been my hero in those two specific areas. I don't use a foundation, I use a tinted moisturizer. I use two different colors for my moisturizer, one to highlight under my eyes + to cover blemishes, and the other for a overall cover. I would highly recommend Bobbi Brown to anyone that is struggling with finding their perfect makeup.
{from L to R: Sephora's Pro Flawless Powder Brush #40, Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Liner in black, Maybelline Great Lash BIG in brownish black, Maybelline Great Lash Curved in very black, Bobbi Brown Lip Color in sweet nectar, Pure Minerals blending brush, Bobbi Brown Shimmer Blush in coral, + Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in black ink}
{From T to B: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in beige, EOS Lip Balm in sweet mint (holiday collection), Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base A82, + Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer in medium tint & light to medium tint}

Dough, Ray & Me

Isn't this adorable? I stopped by a local coffee shop and ordered this delicious cup of hot chocolate. Surprising to me, because I'm typically a coffee drinker. And I kid you not, I finished it in less than 5 minutes because it was that good, so I can only imagine how their coffee will taste! This cup of coco was $3.50 and the barista topped it off with my name in chocolate. So obviously I had to snap a pic of it before it disappeared. They also have tasty sweets too. Next time you're on Main Street, stop by and give it a try! If I liked it, so will you.
Cheers

 {mint chocolate cupcakes, YUM!}

Also, one of my favorite drinks that I make at home is black coffee + hot chocolate, and to my surprise that's what they make here too. I have my own little name for it ("not your mothers coco"), but here they call it a Mochalita. From what I remember, the barista told me there is milk, espresso, and cinnamon sprinkled on top. So for all you coco + coffee lovers, go give this drink a try, and tell me how it is!

Two Ingredient Makeup Brush Cleaner

What you will need:
-dirty makeup brushes
-dish soap
-olive oil (or a hair conditioner)
-small bowl
-paper towel or bath rag
-sink
{Grab all your dirty brushes to prepare to wash}
{Find a small bowl, but big enough for the liquid and the brushes}
{Add the dish soap into the bowl}
{Then add your olive oil or hair conditioner with the soap to create a mixture}
{Now take one of your brushes and mix it in the mixture}
{It won't take very long until it starts looking more like this. Continue to do this with the rest of your brushes}
{Rinse all brushes through warm water for a clean ready to use brush. Make sure your brush is completely free of oil and soap! Then lay on a towel to air dry}

I hope this super cheap DIY came in handy for anyone that was in need of clean facial brushes. Just a reminder, this routine should be repeated once to twice a month to help prevent your brushes from the makeup build up.

New In

{from L to R: Diba, Zara, + Pink and Pepper}
Here are my latest three new purchases. All three are absolutely stunning when their on. I was a little nervous when purchasing the pair on the far right, only because they are a bit bulkier than I would normally go for. No when I'm going out they are for sure my go to shoe. All three pair are surprisingly comfortable and easy to walk in.
